The town of Montescudo is renowned for its hospitality and excellent cuisine - as is all of Romagna. The town of Montescudo is situated in an area rich with natural fare such as wine, olvie oil, cheese, honey and potatoes. A local consortium reunites the farmers, restaurants and artisans of the area. Every Sunday morning there is the "Borgo" market where it is possible to purchase and try out local top quality wares made by the Montescudesi.

Historical Interest
The local town is one kilometre from the residence and stands on the top of a hill at the foot of Monte Godio. This presents a vast panorama of the area from the view of the sea sweeping across from the Pesarese area to the Ravennate. On a clear morning you can view the tops of the Istrian mountains on the other side of the Adriatic.

Perched on the top of a mountain in the Valle del Conca, Montescudo
boundaries neighbour those of S. Marino which is only a few kilometres
away. The quiet historical centre conserves a solid perimeter wall which
has witnessed many battles including those between the Malatesta and Montefeltro
in the XIV and XV centuries.
During the reign of the Emperor Cesare Augusto the town was a station
for the military traveling from Arminium to Rome. In 1209 the town was
dominated by Ottone I, and then passed under the jurisdiction of the Republic
of Venice, and then alternatively under the power of the Malatesta and
the Dukes of Urbino (1284-1657).
Napoleon was forced to leave Romagna and the area underwent a great material,
moral and cultural loss, and was reduced to small communes. Returning
under the Vatican State, Montescudo followed Romagna up until the Unification
of Italy, with its name Montescudo.
Surrounded by natural parks
Immersed in the midst of natural parks, the residential complex boasts
a splendid view which embraces the Adriatic sea ahead and to the left
Mount Titan and San Marino. The residence is next to the natural Conca
Park and the fluvial Park of Marano.
